The event will feature Keynote Speaker Evelyn Williams, professor at Georgetown University McDonough School of Business, speaking about Creative Tools. David Remick, Executive Director of the Alexandria/Arlington Regional Workforce Council will also provide a brief overview of the industries, occupations, and skills that make this region one of the best places to work in the world.
Highlights of the forum also include presentations from experts the Society of Human Resource Management on the regional economic outlook, breakout sessions for employer and career services members, networking opportunities with your colleagues and more.

Evelyn Williams, professor, Georgetown University McDonough School of Business

Prior to teaching full-time, Professor Williams spent over 15 years in a series of executive and leadership development positions within Fortune 500 firms.
Professor Williams holds a B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles and an M.A. in Education from the University of Chicago where she earned Phi Beta Kappa distinction. She and her husband are empty-nesters and the proud parents of two daughters now attending university.

David Remick, Executive Director, Alexandria/Arlington Regional Workforce Council

The Alexandra/Arlington Regional Workforce Council is responsible for overseeing approximately $1 million annually of federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act services to the region’s two American Job Centers, Alexandria City’s Workforce Development Center and Arlington County’s Employment Center. These services include financial support for tuition and credential attainment, internships and supportive services, such as subsidies for transportation, childcare, books and fees while in school, and uniforms for employment. Mr. Remick also provides labor market information to regional education, business, and community groups.

Lee is a recognized authority on recruitment trends, and prior to joining SHRM he was editor and publisher of CareerCast.com, an award-winning site he created for job hunters and the HR community. He also served as chief alliance officer of CareerCast’s parent company, Adicio Inc., a leading developer of online recruitment solutions.
